AGR Renewables Announces Sale of 50MW BESS Project to Temporis Capital

AGR Renewables is pleased to announce the sale of its 50MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located in Bramley, Hampshire, UK, at ready-to-build (RTB) stage to Temporis’s Impact Strategy V investment fund.

The Bramley BESS project is AGR’s inaugural standalone battery project and is a cornerstone of a wider BESS portfolio which AGR is completing the development of currently.

The Bramley BESS project encompasses an import/export capacity of 49.9MW and is expected to begin construction in Q2 2024 and connect to National Grid in 2025. Upon completion, the project will store renewable energy from the grid at times of surplus supply until a time when it is most needed, as well as provide the National Grid with essential stability and support services.

Additionally, the project will contribute to the long-term reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by replacing existing gas-fired peaking facilities that currently provide similar services to grid, supporting the United Kingdom’s commitment to a sustainable future.

Luke Rogers, Head of Solar & Storage Development, AGR: It has been a pleasure working with the Temporis team and we hope to work together on other projects in the future. We wish the Temporis team every success in the construction phase of the Bramley BESS project and look forward to seeing the project become operational. AGR will continue its mission to develop high quality renewable energy projects and support the UK’s transition to net zero.

Oliver Breidt, Co-Founder, AGR: “We are excited to announce the sale of AGR’s first standalone BESS project to Temporis Capital, a relationship which we hope to grow over the coming years. The project will provide support to the National Grid and aids in achieving UK net zero targets.”

Matt Hubbard, Head of UK Investments,Temporis Capital: “We are delighted to complete the investment in Bramley BESS,and we are excited to bring the project through construction and into operation. Bramley BESS complements our existing portfolio of similar assets and further diversifies our portfolio across technology and geography. The AGR team was excellent to work with and we hope to deliver further projects together in future.”
