AGR led the development of six of the projects from inception, while two were acquired during their development phase. Acting as both EPC contractor and Balance of Plant (BOP) provider, AGR was responsible for the design, construction, and delivery of all eight sites. Triple Point provided full project financing across the portfolio.
Case Study
CHP Gas
Following the withdrawal of renewable subsidies, AGR identified a gap in the UK energy market for flexible generation. To address this opportunity, AGR partnered with Triple Point to develop a portfolio of eight gas peaking plants between 2016 and 2018.

The plants were strategically developed to support grid stability by providing rapid-response generation during periods of peak demand, complementing the increasing penetration of intermittent renewable energy sources.
In 2018, the fully developed portfolio was successfully sold to Conrad Energy, demonstrating AGR’s ability to identify market opportunities, execute complex multi-asset developments, and deliver value through strategic partnerships and timely exits.
AGR acted as the EPC and BOP contractor across all assets, maintaining full control over quality, cost, and schedule through a vertically integrated delivery model. This approach streamlined procurement and construction, mitigated execution risk, and ensured projects were delivered on time and within budget. The plants were designed for high operational flexibility, allowing them to respond rapidly to grid demand and capture revenue through the UK Capacity Market and ancillary services.
